Coal Creek Trail

We decided to go for an easy little hike the other day: Coal Creek Trail.

The trail meanders through the forest past remnants of the mining operations that once occupied most of the area.

Coal Creek flows nearby, and North Fork Falls isn't that far from the Red Town Trailhead.

Overall a pretty easy hike that is good for kids and less experienced hikers.

Fees: None. Free parking at all trail heads.
What to bring: layered clothing, raincoat if rainy, water, a snack
Length of hike: 6 miles, roundtrip
