"About Me" Poster

This week my son had the opportunity to complete a poster about himself and share it with his class. He's been looking forward to it because he's had a wild idea. Look carefully at the photo below and see if you can figure out what he asked me to do for him.

His friends thought it was pretty funny. I love having fun with Photoshop!

School Project: Instrument

My son came home with instructions from his Music Teacher at school to create his own instrument, so I encouraged him to come up with a plan and get to work.

Star Garland 2

After I made the first star garland for my son's Star Wars birthday party, I decided I needed some bigger stars for my mantle. Again, I used stars I already had and just sprayed the stars with gold paint and gold glitter spray. I probably should have base-coated the stars with black paint because the red shows a bit, but I didn't have a whole lot of time.

Star Garland 1

I kind of have an obsession with streamers.

Really. I might need help.

For my son's Star Wars birthday party this year I decided to add a garland of gold stars to the streamers criss-crossing their way across my ceiling. Yep, I'm daring like that.

Ooooh, sparkly!

I'd been dying to do something with a huge jar of paper stars I've had taking up space in my studio. While I've loved them for about seventeen years, it was time to have the stars move on to bigger and better things.

ultra cute, multi-colored paper star goodness

Lake Washington 2/10

my last painting, "Lake Washington 2/10"

I miss painting. I'm not sure why I stopped before I ever really got started. I could blame it on me getting sick a couple of years ago, or my daughter having so many health problems this year, but the fact of the matter is... I just didn't make painting a priority. Maybe I'm just a big chicken, too concerned by whether anyone else will like what I create.
