Diamond Head (Lē‘ahi) State Monument

No trip to Honolulu is complete without a trip to Diamond Head State Monument for a hike!

The trail begins inside the crater of Diamond Head. Here you'll find a park with blossoming trees for shade and restrooms if you need them.

The trail is steep, and zigzags its way up the inside of Diamond Head.

At the top is an old Fire Control Station and several bunkers to climb around and through.

And the views from the top? Absolutely gorgeous!

We had to be a little careful on the way down as we encountered a bit of rain and it made some of the stairs and walkways slippery.

It was a fantastic workout with beautiful views! Definitely visit Diamond Head and take the hike if you are able to if you are visiting Honolulu!

Fees: $5 per car
Length of Hike: 1.6 miles, roundtrip
What to bring: sturdy shoes, a flashlight (there's a short, lit tunnel), binoculars, a camera
